[Event] Great War Event Guide

Hello Royale Online Family!

Our previous post covered what the Great War gives you. This one covers how you get it!

There is also a chest we haven't shown you yet. It's at the bottom of this post.

Step 1 - Ammunition

Ammunition

You don't have to do anything special for this one. Kill monsters and Ammunition drops. The map doesn't matter and there is no level requirement to join the event. Every character can collect it.

One rule does apply, and it's the same one the rest of the game already uses: you only get drops from monsters within 15 levels of you. Monsters far below your own level drop nothing, Ammunition included.

Ammunition picked up after a kill

Ammunition drops to the ground like any other item.

Bosses and monoliths always drop Ammunition.

They drop it every single time and they drop more of it. It goes to the player who dealt the most damage, so it pays to be the one doing the work.

Ammunition is tradable. You have two options: sell it to other players on the market, or keep it and make your own medals.

Ammunition stacked in the inventory

Ammunition stacks, so it won't eat up your inventory.

Step 2 - Trade

The War General is standing right next to the Event Helper. Walk up to him and talk to him.

Look for the Event Helper. The War General is right beside him.

Pick the medal you want. The screen shows you the cost before you commit, and there is no level requirement. Every character can trade.

Six medals.

The confirmation screen lists everything the trade will take. Confirm, and the medal drops into your inventory.

Careful when you hand over skill books: the trade takes the first books in your inventory and you don't get to pick which ones. If there are books you want to keep, put them in storage before you trade.

Medals cannot be bought from other players.

Only Ammunition, the Independence Medal and the chests change hands between players. The other five medals you make yourself. There is no other way to get them. You can still keep them in your storage.

Step 3 - Medals

A medal is not equipment. You double-click it, it is consumed, and you get a buff (the same way a Dew works).

The bonus goes straight onto your character and the icon appears in your buff bar. The first five medals run for 3 hours, the Independence Medal for 1 hour.

The buff bar shows how much time you have left.

A medal you don't use never expires. It sits in your inventory as long as you want. The clock only starts when you use it.

You can run all six at the same time. Every medal has its own slot in the buff bar, so they don't overwrite each other. The bonuses add up.

You cannot use the same medal twice in a row.

A medal that is already running can't be refreshed. Wait for its buff to end, then use the next one. Six different medals at once is fine. Two of the same one is not.

Step 4 - Victory Bonus

This is the part that involves your whole server. The Ammunition spent in trades is what raises your server's Victory Bonus level.

Collecting Ammunition does nothing on its own (it has to be traded). It doesn't matter who trades it. Every trade on the server goes into the same counter.

You can check where your server stands at any time.

On 30 August at 00:00 the level is locked and the Victory Bonus goes out to every player on the server. It stays active until 9 September and sits in your buff bar like any other bonus.

The Victory Bonus runs next to your medals and adds on top of them.

You get the Victory Bonus even if you never trade a single medal. It applies to the whole server.

After 30 August the level can no longer go up, but trading stays open until 9 September. You keep making medals for yourself. The counter just stops moving. So the days that decide your server's level are 21 to 30 August.

Emperor's Sealed Mystery Chest

You already know the Sealed Mystery Chest. Every Independence Medal trade gives you one.

There is a second chest, and this is the first you're hearing of it. On that same trade there is a very small chance that you also walk away with the Emperor's Sealed Mystery Chest.

We're not saying what's inside. What we will say is this: an emperor does not put his own seal on an ordinary chest.

Both chests open with the same big update, and neither of them is ever deleted. Trade them, put them on the Offline Market, or sit on them until the update. They're yours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will the chests be openable once the event ends?

A: No. Both chests open with our next big update, not before.

Q: What's inside the Emperor's Sealed Mystery Chest?

A: Not announced. One thing is certain: it holds far more valuable items than the Sealed Mystery Chest.

Q: I don't get the medals. It says 3 hours, but it also says they aren't deleted?

A: Medals are buff items that make your character stronger. Think of them like a Dew. Use one and you get a 3 hour buff (1 hour for the Independence Medal). As long as you don't use it, the medal just sits in your inventory and nothing expires. When the event ends only the first five medals are deleted. Your Independence Medals stay with you.

Q: Do I lose the medal buffs when I die?

A: No.

Q: Does the buff time run down while I'm offline?

A: No. If you use a medal and log out, you pick up the remaining time when you log back in.

Q: Are medals equipment? Can I put them on and take them off?

A: No. A medal is consumed the moment you use it, like a Dew or a Dragon God Attack.

Q: Do bosses drop more Ammunition?

A: Yes. Bosses and monoliths always drop Ammunition and they drop more of it. It goes to the player who dealt the most damage.

Q: Which skill books does the trade take?

A: All types count. The trade works through your inventory starting from the first skill book and takes what it needs. You don't get to pick. Put the valuable ones in your storage before you trade.

Q: Do I need a Marshal Medal to make an Independence Medal?

A: Yes. You must have 1 Marshal Medal in your inventory, and the trade consumes it.

Q: Does every medal need the one below it? Are medals upgraded step by step?

A: No. That is only true for the Independence Medal. Every other medal is made straight from materials.

Q: Do I have to trade to get the Victory Bonus?

A: No. The Victory Bonus goes to everyone on the server, whether you traded or not.

Q: Can I buy a medal from another player?

A: No. The five event medals can't be traded or sold. Only Ammunition, the Independence Medal and the chests change hands between players.

Don't sit on your ammunition and don't leave it to the last day.
